I'm proud to introduce the January 2010 edition of Golfing Nevada Magazine. We have added over 15 new golf courses to the publication, making this the most complete and thorough directory for golf in the state of Nevada. I hope you find the following pages as informative and useful as I do in planning your annual golf vacation to this great state.

We have some new changes, additions and money saving options for you in 2010. With the addition of the new golf courses we have also added new travel sections for St. George, Utah and the greater Lake Tahoe area. Each region is brimming with award-winning golf courses and we're happy to present some lodging and vacation planning tips for each of these areas.

We will also be expanding from an annual to a biannual publication with a January and August issue of Golfing Nevada. Each will feature up to date information for the season and provide shoulder season offerings for each region. If travel deals and packages are of interest to you, consider joining our email club as each month we send special priced golf travel packages from our participating courses in Nevada. This is a great way to save some money on golf and travel packages that are exclusive to Golfing Nevada email club members. To join, visit www.GolfingNV.com and request a FREE copy of the magazine. Here you will also find golf course videos and other travel tools.

One thing to keep in mind, as you put your travel plans together, are dates for the most popular tournaments in Nevada; American Century Celebrity Golf Championship at Edgewood Tahoe, The Wendy's Three Tour Challenge at Rio Secco/Cascata and the Reno-Tahoe Open at Montreux Golf and Country Club. This is your chance to not only see the best players of the game in action, but A-List celebrities and sports figures as well.

One event that I can personally attest to and endorse is the Wendy's Three Tour Challenge as I had the privilege of playing in this event in 2009. The tournament brings together three top players from each of the following tours; PGA, LPGA and Champions. The purpose of the event is to raise much needed funds for the Dave Thomas Foundation regarding adoption, finding forever families for children in foster care. The general public can participate in a couple of ways; purchasing individual or foursome spots in the weekend amateur event and in the Pro-Am or purchase a ticket to watch the pro's battle it out to determine which tour is superior. I have yet to play in a tournament where golf course service (Rio Secco and Cascata) and the event itself was beyond first class. The golf courses are in pristine condition, the tee prizes are the best I've seen at any event and the overall experience is something you will remember for years to come. On top of it all you’re helping raise money for children in our communities that desperately need homes.

Good luck on the links this year and if you get the opportunity to tell our participating golf courses that you saw them in Golfing Nevada Magazine, we'd greatly appreciate it.
